Twitter has officially become iconic enough to join the ranks of the elite companies with instantly recognizable brand logos (i.e., Apple, Starbucks, Target). They have simplified their Twitter Bird yet again and simultaneously clarify that the brand logo will no longer appear with any form of text:
“Starting today you’ll begin to notice a simplified Twitter bird. From now on, this bird will be the universally recognizable symbol of Twitter. (Twitter is the bird, the bird is Twitter.) There’s no longer a need for text, bubbled typefaces, or a lowercase “t” to represent Twitter.”
